english_school_iconOur English school

English is a language that every Ecuadorian would like to learn. The language is a gateway to better opportunities and a good understanding of English will improve their position in the labor market. Unfortunately, good English education is only accessible to the elite few.

DO YOU SPEAK ENGLISH?

¨Do you speak English? Are you able to teach it to us?¨ Those were the questions that our founders were confronted with, when they first set foot on Ecuadorian soil. Those questions have led to the creation of our first modest English language program for the locals. Within a few weeks this program was visited by more than 100 Ecuadorian students.

As of now, 4 years later, we have our own office building with a classroom, make use of a professional teaching method and give classes to different age groups. Ranging from a 7-year old kid to a 60-year old grandpa, everybody is welcome. After all, nobody is too old to learn!

At the English School, you can take the role of manager/project coordinator or as a teacher.

  • Give class in a challenging and structured way;
  • Safeguard the balance, structure and progress of the English School project;
  • Keep in touch with the kids´ parents, talk to them before or after classes if necessary;
  • Chair and prepare our monthly English School team meetings;
  • Actively involve yourself with the organization and the project: what is needed? What can be improved?;
  • Prepare a monthly English exam;
  • Encourage discipline, self-confidence and a proactive study mentality;
  • Create a safe and stimulating study environment;
  • Promote important values like respect and collaboration.

We oblige the trainers of the English School to take a base course in Spanish at our Quito office. For the manager or coordinator of the project, it is mandatory to follow an intensive course.
